What is Twitter?
Twitter is a short message service that allows you to send and receive
short updates, called "tweets," from people or groups you're interested in.
A tweet is a text message of up to 140 characters. They are displayed on
the user's profile page and automatically sent to the user's "followers".
You can choose how you want to receive tweets from people you're following,
either by logging on to the Twitter web site, using one of the many Twitter
clients, or even having tweets sent to your cell phone as a text message.
The service is free, and doesn't send ads or spam to you (so far!).
How will the 2009 PBC use Twitter?
The PBC will use Twitter to announce things like updates to the web site,
the addition of new sponsors, and reminders of important dates. We'll do
our best to keep tweets to a minimum, so you won't be overwhelmed with
useless messages.
How do I follow PBC on Twitter?
Our Twitter ID is PBC2009. Simply go to our Twitter page at http://twitter.com/PBC2009
and select "Follow". If you haven't created a Twitter profile yet, you'l have to do that
before you can follow us. It only takes a couple minutes, and asks for minimal information.
